We have today implemented an updated version of the Stratis map on our server. After receiving player feedback, a lot of work has gone in to this major revamp of the map. The idea is to try and give more importance to a wider area map instead of just a few concentrated areas, make capturing territory slightly more dynamic and also balance the economy by making it harder to deposit or withdraw money from the ATM. All in all we want the No Bullshit experience to be as balanced and as challenging as possible as we work towards our aim of providing the best Wasteland server available.

The changes are as follows:

New Capture Zones Added – 3 new capture zones have been added to the map, 2 of which are at the more familiar places of LZ Connor and Girna. A further small zone has been added at a new place called Smugglers Cove which is a small fishing village on the south east coast, known to the locals as “Tsoukalia”. The purpose of these additions is to give more purpose to the south of the map to encourage people to actually leave the Airbase, Agia and Kill Farm occasionally!

Capture Zones Improved – We have modified the size and shape of some of the capture zones to try and concentrate the battle for the territory over the main collections of buildings for each zone. Agia Marina has been split in to two separate capture zones, North and South of the dividing canal. Kill Farm and The South Peninsular have had their capture area reshaped to closely match the shape of the towns themselves. Other areas have had their capture zones reduced by up to 25% to try an eliminate people hiding in a bush 200m from the town centre preventing the zone from being captured. So now if you want the territory you are going to have to get a bit closer to the action!

ATMs Removed/Relocated – We have taken the decision to make banking facilities much more valuable by removing 5 ATM positions and moving the remaining 8 to be much more evenly distributed. Gun Stores and Vehicle Stores no longer have on site ATM machines, so if you want that Blackfoot, tank, night stalker, launcher or mortar then you are going to have to fight your way to the bank and back! It makes for a more balanced and challenging environment. Also, with big money available from selected missions, High Value Targets are going to have to work a bit harder to bank their ill gotten gains.

More Server Restarts – The server will now restart every 6 hours at 2am, 8am, 2pm and 8pm. This change has been made to try and keep the server running as smoothly as possible and declutter all the crap it collects over 6 hours of warfare.

Damage Handling Fixed! – We have modified the code to make the damage handling work in line with the new Nexus update. This means that you should no longer be instantly killed when you get shot as was happening before. Now when you get shot you should enter critical mode with a 3 minute timer to maybe get revived.

We hope that these changes will see a more enjoyable, balanced and challenging experience and we hope that all our players will welcome these updates.
